Meet Candidate R. Wagner (Dick) Jones for your own questions and answers
See past events (below) for times before the election when public opportunity was made to meet me in person.  You may still talk to me anytime by calling my cell phone (801-708-1696) or by e-mail or one of the message boards in this website.  Once the election is over I will remain accessible to talk about your issues and to bring them to the Board.

Commemoration event in Melanie's Erudition Park
Silver Hawk Dr., Holladay
Contributions are not tax deductible as charitable donations. Utah law does not limit contribution amounts or prohibit any entity from making a contribution. A corporation that is incorporated, organized, or otherwise created less than 90 days before the date of a general election must file a statement of  organization with the lieutenant governor's office before making a contribution to a candidate's committee. Each corporation that has made expenditures for political purposes that total at least $750 during a calendar year must file a verified financial statement with the lieutenant governor's office as needed on January 10, August 31, and seven days before the regular general election. (Utah Code 20A-11) Federal law prohibits contributions from foreign nationals.

Every event is a golden opportunity for us to get to know one another: For you to get clarification on questions and issues; to hear more about what I am bringing to the Granite School Board; to tell me what is important to you; and to experience first hand how approachable and accessible I am and will be to you and other voters when I am elected.  I believe in open government, not executive sessions.  I have no conflicts of interest on spending issues for you to worry about, and I want voters to regularly approach me with their concerns.  General Election campaign events should be about the serious business of deciding which of the two candidates will represent the best interests of the voters and our community.  To me, this must include how well I communicate one on one with you.  I know that campaign events for dinner and discussion on the issues do not sound as exciting as a cruise with shore leave to relax in the Caribbean, but I promise that for Granite School District parents who want to see that their children learn critical thinking skills, the political meetings have far greater significance.  If you still prefer the Caribbean, please enjoy the photo of Melanie and me with friends in 2007.
